One 60-day cruise through Australia was terminated following the death of an older woman who was stranded by the vessel on a distant island.

The passenger had been walking on the remote island with shipmates from the vessel, but parted ways from the excursion for a pause. The liner departed without her and went back after some time after the personnel discovered the woman was not present.

A major rescue mission discovered her person the next day.

Investigative bodies are looking into the incident, in coordination with law enforcement and the official investigator.

The CEO of the voyage organizer announced that passengers and personnel on the Coral Adventurer were notified that the remainder of the journey had been called off due to the "tragic passing and prior mechanical issues".

Through an announcement, he mentioned that guests would be given a complete reimbursement, and said the company was working "to organize the travel back of the travelers via private aircraft".

Officials also released an latest announcement, and said they had "issued a order to the Captain" preventing any additional guests from entering the liner.

The ship initially left the Australian port on October 24th, and was merely two days into the voyage at the time of the elderly woman's passing. Lizard Island was the initial destination on the itinerary.
