AC Shadows Introduces Bizarre Attack on Titan Event for Holiday Season
In a unexpected crossover event that breaks usual predictions, Ubisoft has revealed an virtual partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected holiday event operates from November 25 through December 22, offering free additional story content for Shadows players.
Strange Adventure Uncovered
According to the formal announcement, "An unusual meeting pulls characters Naoe and Yasuke into a new adventure, where whispers of forbidden practices and monstrous transformations resonate through the obscurity." The narrative presents a "unusually garbed woman named Ada" who tasks the duo with venturing into the Gemstone Grotto—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her companion from a hidden cult.
The mission focuses on "strange trials and a fearsome foe" and is open to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Iconic Places and Changes
The teaser highlights the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This important location was previously where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The trailer finishes with a powerful moment showing a character, probably the prisoner, transforming into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Rewards and Additional Features
Players who successfully complete the mission will obtain an exclusive katana in addition to numerous items hidden throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also contains premium Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-themed outfit for Yasuke
- Mikasa costume for Naoe
- Special weapons
- Survey Corps steed
Third Free Story Update
This patch also adds the game's newest complimentary story episode, titled "The Enigma."
